the florida holiday with olivia has nearly come to an end.
last stop is orlando and from there we made a day trip
to cape canaveral kennedy space center.
here is what we got...
kennedy space center / cape canaveral
the rocket garden
the original atlantis space shuttle: awesome!
the spaceshuttle engine
the vehicle assembly building is one of the biggest buildings ever made.
it is 160,3 m tall 218,2 m long and 157,9 m wide.
the 4 gates are the largest on earth.
to tell the truth it doesn't look that big, but it is because there is nothing close by,
so you don't have any comparison. but if you take a closer look at the higher resolution photo
you find a parked car (not the one in the front close to the stairs, more on the right handside)
and behind that white car on the right you can see 2 very small grey doors.
these are normal doors.
see what i mean?

after sanibel beach we went straight to the dali museum in st. petersburg.
so no wonder that there is still some sand on my arms and even in my face,
i simply didn't notice!
the dali museum is a must, because it is the second largest salvador dali collection in the entire world.
here are just some of the wonderful paintings of this great spanish surrealist (1904-1989).
there was a temporary exhibition of the great dutch graphic designer
Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972) but i was
not allowed to take photos in there.
we were really lucky with the weather in florida this winter holiday.
most days were like summer in vienna: sunny and very hot!
so here are some photos from the beaches.
unfortunately i didn't take a swimsuit with me,
so we just walked around and relaxed in the sun...
